Demonstrating Augmented Reality

A physical demonstration of augmented reality containing an overview of the function, history, and current uses of AR. Particularly special was the recreation of computer scientist Ivan Sutherland’s 3-Dimensional room used in his 1971 head-mounted three dimensional display prototype. The patterned triggers for the demo were based on the work by pioneering Czechoslovakian computer artist Zdeněk Sýkora.

My focus was in a variety of related areas of design including cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, design pedagogy, user-centered design by way of interaction design, user experience, design research, cultural anthropology, and coding and creative technologies.

Self Portrait in Shapes

Computation has the power to shape the tools we use as graphic designers. While I don’t hang my hat as a programmer, I know enough to be dangerous. Whether working with data, interactions, or form-making, the power of programming is endless and addicting.
